Canadian grain farmers call on government to stand up for free trade

July 20th marks one year since Italy’s COOL decree caused the loss of Canada’s largest durum market

OTTAWA AND WINNIPEG (July 19, 2018) – July 20th marks the one-year anniversary of Italy’s protectionist country of origin labelling (COOL) regulations on pasta.  Following a year of loss, Canada’s grain industry continues to call on the federal Government to launch a World Trade Organization (WTO) challenge to Italy’s COOL provisions.

Winnipeg, Tuesday, June 26th, 2018– Cereals Canada welcomes the resumption of wheat and flour trade with South Korea.  Thank you to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) for the strong technical work that has allowed for this re-opening.

WINNIPEG, Friday, June 22, 2018 – Cereals Canada and the Saskatchewan Wheat Development Commission (Sask Wheat) are pleased to announce that Sask Wheat is the newest member of Cereals Canada.
