Immersive Milling Course

This two-day training program, held in the Cereals Canada Technical Facilities, is designed for junior millers with six months to two years’ experience, as well as company trainers, quality assurance and/or research and development staff who would like to get a deeper understanding of milling and overall plant operations.
The practical hands-on activities that are covered in this milling program would complement a milling correspondence course such as those offered by IAOM (International Association of Operative Millers) or UK Flour Millers.

About the Cereals Canada Technical Facilities
Cereals Canada supports our members and others in the cereals value chain with six technical laboratories located in our downtown Winnipeg headquarters, including a pilot mill, an analytical lab, end-products areas (baking, pasta, Asian products), and a specialty milling facility.
The three flour mills at Cereals Canada (micro, laboratory, and pilot) are used to demonstrate to customers how Canadian wheat can be processed into a variety of flour or semolina products that are used around the world. The pilot mill can produce flour or semolina that is similar in quality to a commercial mill and can be also adjusted to replicate milling conditions in warmer, more humid climates.
Combine to Customer

Developed specifically for farmers, our Combine to Customer program provides a broad overview of grain industry operations and provides valuable insight about end-user needs and what customers of Canadian grain are asking for, as well as a forum for learning and discussing grain industry issues.
The three day course includes sessions on wheat breeding and the key qualities of Western Canadian wheat classes customers depend on, as well as market outlook presentations, grain grading demonstrations, and updates on Cereals Canada initiatives.
The Combine to Customer program runs every February in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is open to Canadian farmers only.
