Winnipeg, Manitoba April 25, 2024 — Cereals Canada congratulates David Hunt on his appointment as Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC). Hunt’s term will begin on May 13, 2024.

“We are pleased to see the appointment of Mr. Hunt to the role of Chief Commissioner,” said Dean Dias, CEO of Cereals Canada. “Our organization looks forward to working with him as we continue to maintain and further develop our global export markets for Canadian cereals.”

Hunt replaces outgoing Chief Commissioner Doug Chorney, who retires at the end of April after serving in various roles at the CGC since 2017. Dias remarked on Chorney’s contribution to the cereals value chain.

“During his time with the CGC, Doug showed tremendous integrity and dedication to the industry,” said Dias. “On behalf of Cereals Canada, we wish him the best for his next chapter.”

Cereals Canada works closely with the Canadian Grain Commission on many programs and initiatives, including the annual New Wheat Crop Trade and Technical Missions. Both organizations are headquartered in the Canadian Grain Commission building in Winnipeg’s downtown.
